From Indonesian Chinese heritage, born and raised in Singapore, Alexandra’s core inspiration is travel and adventure as she has travelled the world quite extensively since the time she was a teenager. Alexandra left Singapore to attend all-girls boarding school in Australia when she was 15, then as a high school exchange student in Long Beach, California. There, was she exposed to multitude of different cultures which she loves and cherishes.
Alexandra graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The city which she loves so much and which inspires so much creativity in her. Pursuing her passion for fashion and design inspired by her fashion designer mother, Alexandra spent her spare time in college interning for the very hip fashion and lifestyle company Opening Ceremony in Hollywood. During the summer holidays, she spent her time interning for Rag & Bone in New York; where she started to take fancy of the city. After college, she moved to New York to work for Lanvin Paris main corporate office. Her curiosity for culture and adventure is evident and undeniable. During her time in New York, Alexandra got intrigued by the world of high jewellery and gemstones, that is when she decided to enroll at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America where she was trained to identify and grade diamonds and colored gemstones.
After a few years, Alexandra moved to London to further her studies in jewellery design. Once she completed her jewellery design studies, she launched out in growing her budding jewellery business there in the U.K. Alexandra Alberta’s passion for playful, colorful gemstones are seen in her designs. This really exemplifies Alexandra’s free-spirited, multi-layered personality, and her individual style. She believes in dressing however she wants, without any subscription to one particular style. But always, polished and well put together.
From the moment Alexandra began designing jewelry, she has been constantly approached with requests to design her one-of-a-kind, whimsical pieces.
